About

More about me.

Hi, I'm Tyler Wolf Leonhardt. I make video games, software, and do yoga.

I spent the last several years at Rec Room, where I was the Principal Software Architect of Circuits, Rec Room's in-game scripting system, and later the Principal Tech Lead of the User Generated Content org. Before Rec Room, I worked on Forza Motorsport at Microsoft's Turn 10 Studios and spent a stint trying to build my own startup, Devev, through Y Combinator's Startup School. I've also been a repeat speaker at the Seattle TypeScript meetup.

This site is where I collect my projects, writing, and the occasional experiment. If you'd like the long version of my career, check out my professional work history.

Work Together

I'm always happy to chat with folks working on interesting problems. A few things I'd especially love to hear about:

  1. Game and engine work: especially scripting systems, creator tools, and UGC platforms.
  2. Tech leadership help: scaling code review, office hours, TDD culture, any unglamorous work that keeps teams shipping.
  3. AI in games and creator tools, particularly the practical, ship-it-this-quarter kind or moonshot kind.
  4. Speaking, writing, or podcast invitations on any of the above.

If any of that sounds like you, please reach out to contact@tyleo.com. I'd love to hear what you're building.

Support My Work

Writing posts, building tools, and shipping the occasional experiment all take time, and I'd like to keep doing it :)

If something here helped you, made you think, or saved you a few hours, a small donation goes a long way toward showing your appreciation.

Thank you <3 it means a lot.
